Seven reasons why I am really excited to be going back home to Atlanta for Thanksgiving Break.

  1. Onion rings and F.O.'s at The Varsity. (Yes, this should be number one.)
  2. It will be right after I finish teching for The Crucible, so I can already tell you I'm going to want a nice, long break. (What better place for a break than the ATL with ma homies and their baby mamas?)
  3. Seeing all of my family in one place for the first time in what feels like forever. (In-the-closet bisexuals, preachers, somewhat-if-not-completely racist old men, possibly anorexic Jewish women, and my sister and I, the self-professed comedians of the group, all coming together around a turkey and other things that resemble food. But, seriously, I can't wait.)
  4. Day-after-Thanksgiving shopping in a city that has more than Pinnacle Promenade to offer shopping-wise. (Also, an Urban Outfitters. Do you know how excited I am about the possibility of hitting up an Urban Outfitters? Too excited. I might pee myself.)
  5. Even more than that, I won't have to work on the day after Thanksgiving!
  6. The 12-hour car ride there with my family. (No, really. No sarcasm. I love road trips and I love my family. Putting the two together always makes for a really fun Beatles-listening, Steak-N'-Shake stopping, hilariously good time. Also, I rock at car games. It's a skill I would love to one day write on a resume.)
  7. Going back to my roots. (This sounds hokey. Honestly, it kind of is. But, I feel like every once in a while I really need to be back there. The sights, the smells, everything. I love it. I crave it. Of course, now all of those sights and smells could probably be summed up in one word: "Wet." But, still, I've gotten my point across, right?)
Stop messing with my city, floods, or I'm gonna give you a wedgie.
I mean it. Don't screw around with me.

top ten reasons why today is wonderful.

10. This morning when I woke up, my feet weren't freezing.
9. Cranraspberry juice and those cookies with the excessive amounts of icing and sprinkles.
8. I sounded really intelligent in my Theatre class, for once.
7. I watched this.
6. It was Shrimp & Good Food Night at the Quad. Thanks, Mardi Gras.
5. Kate's Radio Show played my favorite Vampire Weekend song and there were boyscouts.
4. Pomai put this video on my wall, which led me to discover the beauty of Edges: A Song Cycle. I am completely in love with it. I wish I had the voice to do musical theatre.
3. I got everything on my list of To-Do's completely finished. Including the dishes, finally!
2. My Mom is adorable.
1. My family sent me a birthday candy-basket and there is a Cookies N' Cream Hersheys in it.

jennie garth and peter facinelli are my favorites.

NERDS ROPE IS MY NEW FAVORITE CANDY.
Every time I see the Snuggie commercial, I can't help but laugh. Can you not just put a robe on backwards? They all look like monks who really enjoy outdoor sports and complementary book lamps. Now, I am watching What I Like About You and eating Sun Chips and finally taking a break.

thirteen.

i wish i had an english accent so i could work "safe" into my everyday vocabulary and not sound like a tool.

I'm getting really into Skins lately. Chelsea and I just watched the first season and I am in love.
Schoolwork has been consuming my life lately. Between papers and scripts and exams, I feel like I'm constantly a step or two behind.
If you haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire yet, go see it. Now. It is entirely too worth it.
I think Blink-182 getting back together has given me a week-long high. Nothing can bring me down.
And believe me, the weather has tried.
It was sixty degrees outside today. It doesn't really feel like February. Hard to believe my birthday is two weeks away.
Most of the time, I think that if I had the monetary means right now, I would want to revamp a lot of my wardrobe and kind of experiment with a new look. But I always end up being worried that people would see that as kind of a poseur move. I think I would want to look like Cassie off of Skins. She kind of exemplifies that whole whimsical and fun look that I really like. Or Zooey Deschanel. Or that girl I always see riding her bike past the dorm who has the really great leather messenger bag.
This is long and I am exhausted. I hope everyone dreams sweet dreams of RPattz and accents and pretty clothes.

"I think getting hit by bus is like a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. 'You cheated on me? Oh, that's okay, you got hit by a bus!'"

today's YESYESYES moment.

BLINK 182 IS BACK AND I COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED.
I mean, I was pretty excited when they finally started talking to each other back when Travis got in that accident. Because they hadn't talked in four years. But they're actually getting back together? Full force?!
THE WORLD IS TOO KIND TO ME!

breakfast is underrated.

"oh, hi, steven straight in 'the covenant'. nice to see you. every single time i wake up in the morning!"

The above picture is the only reason that I got out of bed this morning.
My exact thought process went something along the lines of, "I could sleep for twenty more minutes... or I could wake up now and have enough time to have Lucky Charms and apple juice in my Diamond Ring mug!"
I think I made the right decision.
Also, I am in love with Ryan on The Real World: Brooklyn.

ice wishes.

ICE STORM EXCITEMENT.
a. the val kilmer and william beckett one. b. the one where chelsea is a beatle and i am supposedly trying to lick my arm. c. the one where my love is unrequited. d. the typical one.

If Dan-Dan The Weather Man screws me over tomorrow morning, I will be severely pissed. You're on my list, Mr. Skoff.
Watched Bride Wars. Have become obsessed with weddings. That sounds creepy, but really I just like looking at wedding dresses.
It's Conan O'Brien's final month on Late Night until he takes over the 10:30 spot. I am beyond excited.
I will forever love this song.
I will forever love this video.
I will forever love Blink 182.
I remember the first time I heard them, I was about 11 and right in the middle of my old-school-Green-Day phase. Geekily enough, I was watching MTV up in my room and the video for 'All The Small Things' came on and it was all uphill from there. That feels both like it was yesterday and like it was forever ago.
Ice, please.

twelve.

OBAMADEUS IN THE HOUSE. WHAT'S UP, OVAL OFFICE.
"Barack, which box did you put my china in?!" "Calm the eff down, Michelle! I think they're with my old Billy Blanks tapes."
"Moooom! Malia called me stupid! And she pushed me! And I spilled my Juicy Juice in the Lincoln bedroom!"
"Seriously, Sasha? Whatev, why don't you just go watch The Lion king again, okay?! Here, I'll tell you what happens: Mufasa dies, okay!"

I had way too much fun imagining that.
It's been too long since I've updated this. I always start to and then feel like not enough has happened to write about. And then I realize that actually a lot has happened and in all reality, I'm retarded. Go figure.
My Christmas Break was perfect. Just long enough without feeling too long.
Classes have started and they're pretty good so far. I'm definitely in love with my Communications and Drama classes, but that's kind of expected since those are right up my alley.
Chelsea just put in Love, Actually. I've never seen it before and I'm really excited. This movie seems perfect for me.
Went to my baby cousin, Emma Grace's second birthday party and it was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life.
Watched the Inauguration in my Drama Class today. And I think what moved me the most was realizing that in the same way my Dad always tells me about how he remembers exactly what he was doing when Reagan and Carter were sworn in, I'll tell my kids that the first Inauguration that I can clearly, pristinely remember was Barack Obama's. I just really like that. Plus, Yo Yo Ma was there and Retha was wearing the most fabulous hat I've ever seen!
My friends and I can have more fun with a projecter and an Aquarium DVD than you could really ever believe was even possible. I keep thinking back to that randomly in the middle of classes or walking around campus and I'll just start laughing. Until I realize that laughing when no one around you has said anything is a sign of insanity in most cultures and I stop.
Colin Firth is such a dreamboat. And so far, I am completely in love with this movie.
"Yeah, it's like getting a sunburn from a bear!" Kenzie is hysterical.
And that is that for now.

a list and things.

one of my favorite secrets ever. i do this, too.

Today, I went to the Postsecret Exhibit at the Massey with Matt and Katie. It was actually really beautiful. Or at least, I thought so.
I am really feeling the urge to write and list right now. I write a little every day, actually, but sometimes I just have to sit down in front of Microsoft Word for hours at a time and let it all out. Write all kinds of things.

5 Songs I Am Really Liking Right Now:
1. Rock and Roll. Eric Hutchinson.
2. Winter Passing. The Academy Is...
3. 2 Atoms in a Molecule. Noah and the Whale.
4. It's Gettin' Easy. Dear and the Headlights.
5. Love Story. Taylor Swift. I know, I know, I know.

I am feeling sort of crafty and really inspired right now.
